The stars aligned and I was lucky enough to get a last minute spot on the Overland Track which worked perfectly in with my days off from nightshift nursing.
Here’s a sample of what the Overland Track was like for me. The weather wasn’t too great for summiting mountains on the side trips but that’ll mean I have to go back. Not a bad thing at all. I walked the 80-something kms in 6 days and spent 5 nights on the track.
Waterfall hut, New Pelion hut, Kia Ora hut, Bert Nicols (Windy Ridge) hut and Narcissus hut.
