2. SOUNDBITE (English) John Danilovich, Secretary-General of ICC (International Chamber of Commerce):
"The International Chamber of Commerce takes an overall view of the world economy and there is a huge contrast between the atmosphere here at Davos in 2015 compared to what it is today in 2016. There is a large feeling of general discouragement, perhaps pessimism, amongst the participants here. China is weighing heavily on everyone's mind. The events of the first two weeks of this year, first three weeks of this year, have proven to be very disturbing and very unsettling. The way forward is not exactly clear."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) John Danilovich, Secretary-General of ICC (International Chamber of Commerce):
"The two best countries in which businesses in general have an optimistic view point with regards to 2016, are the United States, where there is reason for hope, but also China. So despite the unsettling events of the first three weeks of this year, China still remains very much on everyone's to do list and on everyone's investment list. "

6. SOUNDBITE (English) John Danilovich, Secretary-General of ICC (International Chamber of Commerce):
"There are a number of fronts that are being addressed here in Davos this year, a number of transformative events with regards to disruption, as you know, (WEF founder) Klaus Schwab has introduced this concept of the fourth industrial revolution, which is, in a way, an existing reality but a concept for the future and a reality for the future on how we have a cross business dialogue in confronting the information technology, in confronting robotics and that type of thing, the effect that they have on business, who are the new winners and losers in this field. Additionally, business is confronting not only those financial matters that affect their balance sheet, but those matters such as the sustainable development goals and the COP 21 process, for example, that was just concluded in Paris with regards to climate. So on all fronts there are major agenda items, not only economic, but also with regards to sustainable development, also with regards to climate and also with regards to civil society. So it is a big agenda this year."

STORYLINE:
The head of the International Chamber of Commerce said on Wednesday that "China is weighing heavily" on the minds of participants at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
John Danilovich said China was the the source of major worries for global business this year.
Yet despite its slowdown, he said China and the United States are the two countries that businesses in general are looking to for growth.
Danilovich said the start of 2016 had been "very disturbing and very unsettling" for business leaders gathered at Davos.
Among challenges ahead, he said, are how companies can cope with the changes from robotics and ever-expanding technology, and how to adapt business decisions to the lower carbon emissions promised in a global climate agreement reached by world governments last year.
