Setting Foot On Cuban Soil In Florida! Visiting the Jose Marti Park In Ybor City, Florida. Jose Marti Park Is a Tiny, Unassuming Park in Tampa (Ybor) that actually belongs to the Country of Cuba! This small piece of land was donated to Republic of Cuba in 1956, by Paulina Pedroso (prominent female leader of the Cuban Revolution & close friend of Jose Marti) & is the former site of her Boarding House. Marti, stayed in her Boarding House during several trips to Tampa & also recovered there from an assassination attempt in 1892.
