Students from University of Eldoret engaged police in running battles for the better part of Tuesday, protesting new fares introduced by matatus plying Eldoret-Chepkoilel road. Transport was also paralyzed and travelers stranded along the busy Iten-Eldoret road after the students lit bonfires to barricade the road. More than twenty of them were arrested.
