Je-hovah's Witnesses belong to a Christian sect that believes Jesus is the Messiah, the New Testament is the word of God, and Jesus died for the sins of mankind. However, this millenarian denomination, which began in the United States during the 19th century, is not considered mainstream by other Christian denominations.
