In this week’s episode we’re talking about the changing environment of retail and its shift towards omnichannel.
To gauge how well retailers are faring against this transformation, Brightpearl and Multichannel Merchant ran a survey of over 100 retail executives called The State of Omnichannel Retail.
Here is what we found:
Whilst 90% of retailers have an omnichannel strategy in place (or are planning to invest in one soon), just 8% feel they’ve mastered this area.
Over half of retailers consider their omnichannel approach a “Work in Progress” and 19% say it’s a “Struggle” or a “Pipedream”.
Technology is now at the point where it’s easy to launch additional websites specializing in certain brands, leading to more sales. Omnichannel is exciting, it’s real and retailers of all sizes will have to take part, but we think you need to start with the data challenge!
