(30 Nov 2016) Residents of the Bakr neighbourhood of eastern Mosul were delivered food aid on Wednesday by Iraqi forces.
Residents said they were in desperate need of food, water, and heating oil for their houses as autumn is turning into winter.
One man, who didn’t give his name, said people in the area were now so poor that they were selling all their household items to buy food.
Mosul is still home to more than one million people despite the ongoing operation to retake the city from Islamic State (IS) group militants.
