Team Scotistani takes you on Glasgow City Mural trail. It’s an amazing walking tour that you can either take on your own or have the option of booking a guided tour. You will see a diverse range of unique and fun works of art that are not only a visual treat but also have a story to tell.
The murals are Glasgow City Council’s initiative. The first one was commissioned in 2008. Today there are over 30 murals. These fabulous works of art adorn many tall buildings, walls of narrow lanes and streets and car parks too.
If you are wondering what benefit they bring to the city, well first and foremost they enrich the city centre and brighten up our lanes and streets, secondly they are a great tourist attraction and above all they provide a huge canvas to the local artists who wish to display their art work on such a massive scale.
The mural trail can be completed on foot in about 2 to 2.5 hours.
