The Centre has reintroduced the Protected Area Regime (PAP) for Manipur, Mizoram, and Nagaland due to growing security concerns linked to the ongoing civil war in Myanmar. Foreigners visiting these states will now require PAP under the Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order, 1958. The regime, which was lifted in 2011, is being reinstated to closely monitor the movement of foreign nationals in the region. All three states share a border with Myanmar, which is facing unrest between armed groups and the military Junta.
