A member of the Mohawk First Nations who met with federal Indigenous Services Minister Marc Miller on Saturday at Tyendinaga said while they felt his words seemed earnest in wanting to communicate, they want to see action and said there were concerns and a "great deal of fear" there may be a "trick" behind the meeting but hope that's not the case.
Miller said that even if the rail blockades stop or ease up, he wants communication to continue because ending the disruptions won't "solve the underlying problem" that First Nations communities are facing.
