Ertuğrul or Ertuğrul Gazi (Ottoman Turkish: ارطغرل, romanized: Erṭoġrıl; Turkmen: Ärtogrul Gazy; died c. 1280/1281)[7] was a 13th century bey, who was the father of Osman I.[8] Little is known about Ertuğrul's life. According to Ottoman tradition, he was the son of Suleyman Shah, the leader of the Kayı tribe (a claim which has come under criticism from many historians)[nb 1] of the Oghuz Turks, who fled from western Central Asia to Anatolia to escape the Mongol conquests, but he may instead have been the son of Gündüz Alp.[5][10] According to this legend, after the death of his father, Ertuğrul and his followers entered the service of the Sultanate of Rum, for which he was rewarded with dominion over the town of Söğüt on the frontier with the Byzantine Empire.[7] This set off the chain of events that would ultimately lead to the founding of the Ottoman Empire.
He must be died at 90s. He was a strategic leader rather than a heroic fighter. He preferred population increase of his very very tiny tribe/clan (?) rather than fighting, of course as much as possible within his troublesome border territories, which was just the opposite of the profile in the epic series. It required more dilomacy, balance, and sincere friendship with all of its neighbours

Bamsi Beyrek (Azerbaijani: Bamsı Beyrək, South Azerbaijani: بامسی بئیرک, Turkish: Bamsı Beyrek) is a character in the Book of Dede Korkut and in Turkish, Azeri and some Altai legends and fairy tales. Despite his stories being far-stretched, it is believed that he may have indeed been a real person.
Kuruluş: Osman, translated as Establishment: Osman, is a Turkish historical drama television series created by Mehmet Bozdağ and starring Burak Özçivit in the titular role.[1][2][3] It focuses on the life of Osman I, founder of the Ottoman Empire.
Gündüz Alp was the likely father of Ertuğrul (13th century) and grandfather of Osman I, the founder of the Ottoman Dynasty.[1][2][3] According to some sources, the name of one of the sons of Ertuğrul was also Gündüz Alp,[4][5] and thus the brother of Osman I.[1][6][7] Ottoman histories, written around the 15th century, differ in details about Osman I's ancestry.
Saru Batu Savcı Bey or Saru-Yatı Savcı Beg (died 1287)[2] was the older brother of Osman I, the founder of the Ottoman Empire.[2] He is known to be the most 'mysterious' of Ertuğrul's children.[3]

During the early Ottoman Conquests in the reign of Osman I, Turgut Alp was sent to Angelacoma (present-day İnegöl) in 1299 and he conquered the area.[5][6] This area consisting some villages, was given to him by Osman I and his territory was called Turgut-ili (Land of Turgut).[7][8] During the Siege of Bursa, Turgut Alp, along with Osman's warrior Mihal Gazi, participated in the conquest of Atranos Castle (later known as Orhaneli) in 1325, which played a key role in leading to the Ottoman conquest of Bursa during the reign of Sultan Orhan.[1] He was also with Orhan during the conquest of Bursa (1326).[9][10]
His tomb is located in the cemetery of Turgutalp (Genci) village, İnegöl, Turkey.[11] The grave outside the Ertugrul Ghazi's mausoleum is an honorary grave, not the real burial place.
Turgut Alp was one of the warriors and alps who fought for Ertuğrul, a Turkic leader and bey, and Ertuğrul's son Osman I, the founder of the Ottoman Empire.[3][1] After the establishment of the Ottoman Empire, he became one of its military commanders, serving Osman I, as well as his son, Orhan Gazi.[4]
