Made in Germany about 1900, this tall or long case Grandfather clock is in excellent running condition. The matched mahogany case has flame grain panels.
The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is all that is needed to maintain the warm patina. Hand cut dovetail joints are visible on the back of this expertly crafted case.
Engraved brass weights, pendulum and dial are all original on this antique. There is a little wear to the hand painted numerals, see photos. The unsigned brass movement runs a week on a winding, done by pulling the chains on the weights, this elegant clock counts the hour and chimes on the half as well. Measurements of this historic furniture are 27" wide, 18" deep and 87" tall.
