Northeast Delhi remained on edge on Tuesday, a day after a policeman and at least 4 civilians were killed, as violence flared up over the Citizenship Amendment Act on Monday. Several paramilitary and Delhi Police personnel, were injured in Monday's violence between pro and anti-CAA protesters. With heavy stone pelting and arson, protesters torched houses, shops, vehicles and a petrol pump. Those who died had suffered bullet injuries, while the police head constable had suffered severe head injuries due to stone pelting. The Delhi police have imposed prohibitory orders, in northeast Delhi. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said all private and government schools in Northeast Delhi district will remain closed on Tuesday in the wake of the violence. The Centre, meanwhile, warned of stern action against those involved in the violence.
