"This kind of severe winter has come after ten to fifteen years. The lake has frozen over, it is difficult to move about. Water has also frozen in the taps. In the night too, it is very cold."

STORYLINE
In Srinagar, the capital of Indian Kashmir, the Dal Lake has frozen over following a bout of particularly cold weather that has affected much of South Asia.
Children were seen playing on the frozen lake whilst people aboard small boats or 'shikaras' slowly made their way through the ice.
The lake last froze over in 1986.
Srinagar resident Mubashir Hussain said it was very difficult to move about the city and the nights were especially cold.
Seven people are reported to have died in Jammu-Kashmir state due to the severe cold.
In the Indian capital New Delhi, temperatures plunged to a 70-year low of 0.2 Celsius (32.4 Fahrenheit) on Sunday, according to the Indian Meteorology Department.
Temperatures at this time of year are normally about 7 degrees Celsius higher.
The death toll in India from the freezing weather has risen to 131.
