People around the world face violence and inequality—and sometimes torture, even execution because of who they love, how they look, or who they are. Sexual orientation and gender identity are integral aspects of our selves and should never lead to discrimination or abuse. Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, the most visible LGBT figure toone-sixth of the world. He is now expanding his work into a platform for global gay advocacy. Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil is an Indian prince who is the son of the Maharaja of Rajpipla in Gujarat. He is the first openly gay prince in the world.

A prominent gay-rights activist, he is well-known for starting the Lakshya Trust, an NGO that works towards creating awareness about HIV/AIDS, especially among men who have sex with men.

Ten years since coming out in 2006, Prince Manvendra is now a prominent voice for LGBT rights internationally. The Indian ambassador to nonprofit AIDS Healthcare Foundation, his days are now spent travelling around the country to spread awareness about HIV.
