Hello Everyone, my first Railway video of 2023 features the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express visit to Carlisle Station on Saturday 21st January. This special charter train was operated by West Coast Railways running between Manchester Victoria and Carlisle. The outward journey included the Settle to Carlisle line while the return journey was down the West Coast Main Line. The lead engine was due to be 46115 Scots Guardsman but unfortunately the engine failed its FTR (Fit to run) examination the previous evening. David Smith’s Black Five locomotive 44932 was pressed into service to cover the tour at short notice. Join me at a very busy Carlisle Station to witness the first steam locomotive this year.
