In a significant announcement during today's Angelus, Pope Francis revealed that a consistory will be held on September 30 to appoint new cardinals. The consistory will include the appointment of eighteen cardinals with voting rights and three without.

Among the chosen cardinals are distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to the Church.
