Learn Addition Up to 10 with Multilink Cubes
Hey there, friends! Today, we’re going to learn all about addition!
Addition is when we put things together to see how many we have in total.
We’ll use these colorful multilink cubes to help us figure it out.
First Example: 3 + 2
Let’s start with 3 yellow cubes.
Now, we’re going to add 2 blue cubes.
So, we start with 3... and count on!
Four, five. There are 5 cubes in all. So, 3 cubes plus 2 cubes makes 5 cubes!
Second Example: 4 + 4
Now, let’s take 4 red cubes and add 4 green cubes. We start with 4... and count on: five, six, seven, eight! That’s 8 cubes in all. So, 4 plus 4 makes 8.
Third Example: 5 + 3
Next, let’s start with 5 orange cubes. And we’re going to add 3 purple cubes. Start with 5... then count: six, seven, eight. That’s right! 5 plus 3 makes 8 cubes.
Final Example: 6 + 4
Let’s do one last one! We have 6 brown cubes, and we’re adding 4 white cubes. Start with 6... then count on: seven, eight, nine, ten. So, 6 plus 4 makes 10.
Awesome work, everyone! Remember, when we add, we start with one group and count on to find the total. Now you know how to add numbers up to 10! Keep practicing with your own cubes and have fun adding!
