Fimi X8 Mini v2 for 2023 - Be careful what you wish for. Reality check.. It's not in the 250g class.. 9km range is a pipe dream and 37min flight time is delusional.
The X8 Mini V2 should be simply called the X8 Mini 2023. In essence they have dialed in the camera and put a heavier battery on it.
Without a significantly bigger camera and no O.A. sensors, it is hard to believe that Fimi insists on blotting this craft over 265g when so many others are under the 249g threshold.
Yes the X8 Mini V2 is a little more 'refined' (out of the box) but Fimi has shot themselves in the foot with this one.. unless they know something we don't.. there have been rumours that the 250g ceiling would be raised somewhat.
In the mean time... it still suffers from the 'not quite' being as steady in hover and flight characteristics as a DJI, Autel or even a Hubsan mini drone.
It does have some nice design features but they do not compensate for its weight and wondering eye (so to speak).
Then it all comes down to money.. The DJI Mini 2 SE is the same price as the X8 Mini V2. The HZMSE and the Autel Nano(std) and the DJI Mini 2 - are just $100 more.
In todays market... I'm not that excited about what Fimi has offered here. But if "Price is King" then it is a decent little travel drone all-be-it a little on the chunky side.
Fimi.. I think you are still 2-3 years behind the pack.
I am not disheartened that I bought it (having known the Fimi History) but I feel that Fimi was just throwing spaghetti at the wall on this one, in a last ditch effort to clear the shelves of stocked parts (not unlike the X8 Pro).
