I stayed in the most remote hotel in the UK: Garvault House.

I’ve aways been fascinated by the most remote places to live in the world, so when we got a chance to stay in the most remote hotel in mainland Britain - I jumped at the chance to get off the beaten path!

The Garvault Hotel sits in the middle of the Scottish Highlands, with no wifi, no phone signal - there’s not even a TV. This is a place where people come to immerse themselves in nature. This is truly Scotland off the beaten path!

In episode 5 of the NC500 road trip series, we set off from Kinlochbervie and checked out the stunning beaches at Sango Sands. We then stopped in the village of Durness and explored the caverns of Smoo Cave.

From there we continued into the village of Tongue and hiked up to Castle Varrich. Then, we drove towards Kinbrace - home of the remotest hotel in the UK.
