Display
The M30 has got a 6.4 inch Super AMOLED display which we all know already is the best display technology that is also used in the really high end devices. The 6.4 inch display ensures that you get a really big screen experience - so watching movies or playing games is really just a lot of fun. Super AMOLED ensures that you get the most colorful, vivid and saturated display that’s full of popping colors. And because its infinity U, you get this bezel-less experience which is just very immersive. So overall - its just high quality display. And you get a screen resolution of 1080 pixels by 2340 pixels - that’s crazy crisp at this price point. So I’m actually going to go ahead and say that this is one of the best displays in this price range.
Battery
You get a massive 5,000 mAh battery. Guys, this is alot of power for the entire day. And given that it is rocking a very power efficient octa core processor - the phone can seriously go for more than 1 and a half days if nothing more. Plus it comes with a 15 W fast charger - that’s great. Because you’ve got massive battery size and that gets charged quickly with the fast charger. Now, you might think that a big battery might mean a big bulky phone. That brings to me third reason.
Design and Build
It’s actually quite sleek, light weight and ergonomically feels really pleasant. The backpanel is plastic which keeps the weight lighta and rounded edges make it feel very pleasant whether in the hand or in your pocket. Also, the colors options that are there are also nice. I’ve got the gradation blue here, which looks really nice and it’s quite unique. This is the first time Samsung has done something with this color tone and i think it looks good. It’s a dual SIM phone and also offers you the capability to increase storage by putting in a microSD card upto 512 gigs in storage.
Triple Camera System
The M30 has three cameras at the back. One is a regular 13 MP primary lens with low light capabilities, another one is a 5 MP depth sensor for live focus shots with beautiful blur and lastly is the addition of a new 5 MP ultra wide lens that lets you shoot a lot more in a single frame. Perfect for landscape photography.
Price
The base variant which comes with 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of onboard storage comes for INR 14,990 and the 6 gig variant with 128 giggs of onboard storage comes for INR 17,990. The price points are actually quite competitive according to me and for the performance and features provided along with Samsung’s credibility and after sales support - I think its a smart buy.
Now of course, couple of things that you will get better in some competing phones within this price segment are better cameras and better performance. However, if that’s a trade off that you are ready to make - then so be it. But as an overall package, found the M30 to be of good value.
