Hyderabad B. Siva, Carnatic Musician, an All India Radio approved Artiste, recepient of “SANGEETHA KALARATHNA” from Sri Skanda Guru Vidyashram, Thirupparankundram and “ASTHANA VIDHWAN” of SRI KANCHI KAMAKOTI PEETAM, born in Pudukkottai District of Tamil Nadu as second son to Thiru. Sivasri K. Balasubramania Sivachariyar and Smt. B. Kamala.
He started his foundation in Carnatic Music at the age of 16, with Thiru. Chandarasekar being his guru and later with Smt. Sundaravalli Srinivasan, Smt. Banu Kannan and Late Sri. Sethalapathy Balasubramanian who has been the guiding force in moulding him as a Carnatic musician. Basically started his career as Sivachariyar in Hyderabad and though continuing the daily rituals to almighty at home even today, the passion towards Carnatic music made him to decide, spread and teach this divine art to the next generation. He then pursued Teachers Training Course at Sangeetha Vidvath Sabhai College and M.A. in Carnatic Music. Currently he is pursuing his PhD in music.
Hyderabad Siva began his teaching career as Music Teacher with SriRam Dayal Kheamka Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Thiruvottiyur from 1994 – 2004 and from 2005 till date as Music teacher and Lecturer with Sri Saraswathi College of Education. He is the founder of music ‘trust’ and ‘centre’ called “Sukhi Nikhetan Arts Academy” which constitutes of about 300 students. He has given several perfomances in prestigious sabhas and various places across the globe. His journey as a music teacher doesn’t end within the boundries of our country. He has a branch in Malaysia and South Africa equally spreading our culture and art to his students in those Countries.
His fame and ordent passion for Music is spoken in Tamizh Dailies, English Dailies and in Telugu Dailies. He is appreciated for his smooth and easy way of rendering the Music.
Hyderabad Siva has scripted several articles in monthly magazines and newspapers. He is the author of book “Thennaga Isai” (South Indian Music), which is a great tool of assistance to students who are at the basic level. He has released more than 25 C.D.’s on Carnatic Music. Accompanied by his Disciples his famous albums include “Pancharathna Keerthanas” including notations, “Uthsava Sampradaya Keerthanas”, “Annamayya and Bhadrachala Ramadasar Keerthanas” and many other in the concept of Listen & learn. Presently, he has launched GURUGUHA KRITHIS, and Shri Thyagarajar’s RAMA BHAKTHI KEERTHANAS. Also, a descriptive book and Audio C.D. on Muthuswamy Deekshitar’s NAVAGRAHA KRITHIS will be released and launched today with the support of Sri. V. Narayana Iyer Memorial Trust.
Hyderabad Siva is presenting a show called “Pan Paaduvom” in Makkal TV which throws light on the features and beauty of different South Indian Ragas and songs like Thirupugazh and famous Carnatic Compositions. During the last five years of his journey, along with his students he is performing in several reputed TV channels, on various occasions such as Navarathri, Diwali, Margazhi, and Sankranthi special programs. Presently, he is promting small and easiest krithis of various composers Through Sri Sankara TV in the title “SWARA RAGA LAYA”. Recently, he has received many awards like Nunkala Bharathi, Thiruppugazh Semmal, Thamizhisai Sothi, and Sandha Thamizh Isai Selvar. Also he is conducting a workshop in Malaysia once in every month.
Hyderabad Siva is well-known for his activities for the welfare of his Students in the field of music. Since 2010, every year around 108 students perform with him at various temples on various compositions on the theme “Ashtothra Sankeerthana Haaram” which means “A Nada Samarpanam by 108 people”. This is a great milestone of Hyderabad Siva. The Ashtothra Sankeerthana Haaram which has been done so far was on various themes viz. Annamayya & Ramadasar Keerthanas, Shri Thyagaraja’s Uthsava Sampradaya Krithis & Pancharathna Krithis, Arunagirinathar’s Thiruppugazh etc. This year has been the first time to render multi – classical compositions of various composers in the new theme of ASHTOTHRA SANGEETHA HAARAM.
