Watch this brief overview of the Relationship-Based Competencies to Support Family Engagement or the RBCs. The RBCs are the knowledge, skills, and individual practices that early childhood professionals – in every role - need to engage and partner with families. Each of the ten competencies honors families’ unique cultures and circumstances. The RBCs can help professionals and community partners deliver coordinated services that are data-driven and support continuous improvement. The RBCs are for teachers, childcare providers, family service staff, and home visitors and their supervisors, CCDF, other state administrators, and their partners.
