Welcome to the first of a new series, where we review cruise ports in 5 minutes or less. Did we love it or hate it, and why! Today's port is Rhodes, Greece, with a history that stretches back thousands of years, but is just a flat out FUN place to visit.
One of the main reasons we like Rhodes is because the access is so easy. A five minute easy walk brings you to the medieval town center. Since the harbor can accommodate several ships, this can be crowded, but there are hidden gems just barely off the main street. We'll show you what there is to see and experience in this photographer's dream of a location.
But there is more to Rhodes the island than just the port town of the same name. We review the excursion to the picturesque town of Lindos, which sits at the base of a huge acropolis, with the most famous archeological site of the island on top, the 3,000-year-old temple to Athena. I describe the walk up and show the breathtaking photos from the top.
We end with a minute-long collage of many of the main attractions of the island.
Next time, your five minute review of ancient Ephesus!
Thanks for watching, and leave comments. I have more than two dozen ports queued up for review. Which one would you like to see next?
