About the Speaker
Hassan Abbas is a Senior Advisor at the Asia Society in New York where his work focuses on the US relations with South and Central Asia. He is also Professor and Director of South and Central Asia Program at the National Defense University's College of International Security Affairs in Washington DC, USA. He remained a Senior Advisor at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (2009-2011), after having been a Research Fellow at the Center from 2005-2009. He was also the Distinguished Quaid-i-Azam Chair Professor at Columbia University (2010-2011). He regularly appears as an analyst and commentator at CNN and Aljazeera and his writings have appeared in world's leading academic and media publications. He also runs a blog WATANDOST.
