The message about what to look out for for strokes isn't really getting across. 100,000 strokes occur every year in the UK. It's Britain's fourth biggest killer and 40,000 people die annually while almost two thirds of survivors will leave hospital with a disability. And it doesn't just affect the elderly - a quarter of strokes occur in people under 65.
