Throughout the Second World War, one of the most horrific war criminals was Rudolf Höss, the Commandant of Auschwitz. He was a man who created the largest concentration camp and the deadliest of World War 2 and after being captured at the end of the conflict he was sentenced to death. But Höss would be taken back to his former camp and he was executed on a specially built gallows inside the barbed wire fences of Auschwitz.
