Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chrysler Pacifico, we're going to be test fitting the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains with the diamond pattern, part number TC2517. These Titan chains are strong, and durable, and have a diamond pattern to them with these square link designs here. With the square links, they're going to wear down evenly over time. With the diamond pattern, you get a wider range of coverage around your tire that the ladder pattern is not going to offer. With these chains, they're ideal to be used in situations such a snow and ice because they provide excellent grip and traction in both and good stopping and starting power as well.Other advantages to these chains are how easily they are to install. They simply go behind the tire, hook up very easily, have color codes to them so you know where to go next, and it has its own tensioning system, which eliminates the need to buy any after market rubber tensioners like you would for other tire chains.
The chains are made from a manganese nickel alloy, which is corrosion resistant and adds to its durability. These come in a quantity of two chains. While you use these, you shouldn't be going over 30 miles per hour. Once you're finished using them and they're dried off, it does come with a convenient carrying case so you can have them in the trunk and ready for next time.Today we're working with tire size 235/65-R17's. If you attempt to attach these chains and they don't fit, double check the size and then go to our website to find the proper fit.
We went ahead and laid out the chains off to the side of the tire here because our first step is we're going to slide it underneath. We just want to make sure there's no kinks or runs in the lines. Even though these are particularly easier to install, we do still recommend you wear gloves while you do this. We'll take our yellow end here and we'll slid it behind our tire and grab it on the other side. Then we'll take our two ends, we'll bring them up to the top and make our connection.Grab the chains, and bring them forward around the tire, and this portion back behind, make our connection there, and we'll continue to pull them forward making sure that it's sitting on the tire evenly.
Then we'll come to the bottom of the tire. We'll take the end with our chain, pull it as tight as we can get it, feed that through the loops, and then make our connection to the other chain. With that attached, now we're going to drive a short distance, double check and make sure the tension's working properly, and then we're going to be good to go.
