The Keane Bridge is popularly known as Surma Bridge as it’s over the Surma River, a notable landmark of Sylhet and called the gateway to Sylhet city. According to the history, the bridge was built in 1936 during British reign and is named after Sir Michael Keane, who was the English Governor of Assam during that time. It is an old iron bridge but still being used mostly by the pedestrians and rickshaws.
Meeting more friendly locals and getting to try delicious Fushka made with potatoes and onions deep fried until crispy with a tamarind sauce,topped with chilli if preferred too will be back for more!! 👍👍👍
