Rakesh Roshan's Karan Arjun starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan rewrote Bollywood rulebook almost three decades ago. A story of a mother's belief and reincarnation, a story of brotherhood - Karan Arjun got two of the industry's biggest superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan for the first time ever on celluloid. But when Rakesh ji joins Galatta India host Nayandeep Rakshit for a special and nostalgic walk down memory lane, he reveals interesting tidbits about the film. He shares the film was announced as Kaynaat with Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan as leads but both of them had walked out of the project. It was then that he approached Salman Khan and Aamir Khan who both agreed to do the film, only till SRK decided to come back and join the crew. Talking about casting Kajol and Mamta Kulkarni, he debunks rumours of approaching Karisma Kapoor or Juhi Chawla for the film as well. He also reveals how Jaati Hoon Main was conceptualise and why he was rather strict with his son Hrithik Roshan who served as an assistant director on the sets. It's then that Nayan speaks about this interesting moment he spent in the company of Salman and SRK where they spoke fondly about their memories of Karan Arjun. From leaving the sets after work was done and partying whole night to landing on sets next day sleepless and still shooting, they shot the film like a family. Johnny Lever also interestingly revealed that there was this point where at one of the parties, SRK and Salman had an argument and Salman shot Shah Rukh with a gun, only to scare people.
