On Saturday, January 6, the MSC Sinfonia cruise ship, anchored at the port of Syracuse, Italy, experienced challenging weather conditions marked by gale force winds reaching up to 50 knots. Two small vessels were sunk and many more damaged. Tugboats got it back into position and no one was injured.
