Küssnacht (Kuessnacht) am Rigi is a town in the canton of Schwyz in central Switzerland. The official name since 2004 is Küssnacht (without „am Rigi“). The problem is: There is a Küsnacht in the canton of Zürich. It is written with only one „s“.
Küssnacht has a population of 13.500. It is situated on Lake Lucerne. Travel time with the train from Lucerne is 20 minutes.
The main attraction of Küssnacht is the Astrid Chapel. In 1935 Queen Astrid of Belgium died in a road accident near the town. The Chapel was built here in the following year.
