A high-speed railway project in Indonesia, part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, is on track for a 2023 launch.
Indonesia's President Joko Widodo on Thursday visited Tegalluar station.
It is one of the railway's four stations and it's where eight train cars and an inspection train that arrived from China in early September are parked.
The 142-km line will connect the capital Jakarta with one of the country's largest cities, Bandung.
As the first high-speed rail service in Southeast Asia, the travel time between two cities will be cut from the current 3 hours to about 40 minutes.
The project is facing a cost overrun of about $2 billion, raising the estimated total cost to 113 trillion rupiah ($7.36 billion).
The train cars were designed and built by China's CRRC Qingdao Sifang railway company as part of a contract worth 364.5 million US dollars.
Construction of the rail line began in 2016.
