This is Grizzly's newest benchtop jointer. In addition to a wider than normal benchtop jointer size, it has a spiral type cutter head. Instead of the conventional longitudinal cutter knives, it has smaller helical type cutter heads. So, you get the benefit of a helical head without the price as well as less noise compared to the typical cutter knives.
Out of the box, the infeed and outfeed takes needed adjustment. The owner's manual goes into fantastic detail for set-up and troubleshooting. This is my first jointer and it didn't take long to assemble and dial in.
Side note, Grizzly did not give me this jointer. I had to purchase it.
