On my first trip on m y return to Tunisia I find myself hiking through the mountains of Ain Draham, then to the falls and barrage of Beni M’Tir.
We leave Tunis very early, and I am still adjusting to the cold weather. But I am well prepared with the right amount of layers to keep me warm. As we drive the weather changes and soon starts to rain and is very misty. We arrive finally and start the hike.
We hike into the woods and the nature is just great. Very different from the forest of Trinidad or Jamaica, or even the Caribbean in general. Its cold but still beautiful.
As we hike we come across multiple rivers, streams, different types of tress and varied grounds. It was wet but with the right hiking shoes, you should be okay.
We then hiked to Beni M’tir, where they have some larger waterfalls and it was fantastic.
We wrapped up the day by stopping at the Beni M’tir Barrage or Dam on the way back. A great day with great nature!!!
