Jeremy Hunt announced that parents of all children under five years old will receive 30 hours of free childcare as part of the Budget on Wednesday, 15 March.
The plans extend current childcare provisions given to three and four-year-olds. For children of this age, parents qualify for 30 hours of free childcare if they both earn the equivalent of at least 16 hours a week at the national living wage.
Under the chancellor’s new announcement, one and two-year-olds will be included in the provisions.
