As Omicron spreads, masks will now be worn by pupils in classes in England’s secondary schools, and many teachers will be off school isolating and could schools be forced to close.
The Government is asking retired teachers to make themselves available so that face-to-face teaching can go ahead. Former headteacher and head of Ofsted, Sir Michael Wilshaw, feels it's a moral imperative. He went into a north London school during the first COVID wave and he will be helping at a school in south London this month.
