As requested here is a step by step bookbinding tutorial for this tiny book! Single needle Coptic Stitch in a zig zag design.
Suggested supplies:
- Small round objects to trace size of template
- Scrap paper (I am using drawing paper left over from other projects)
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Paint Pen (if using plastic canvas, helpful for marking covers)
- Small Clamp (helpful for holding signatures together while marking, sewing, etc.)
- Needle - Curved or straight (IMO a curved needle is easier to work with)
- Upholstery thread or other small diameter strong thread (we will double this up)
- Beeswax (for waxing the thread)
- Craft knife (for cutting the holes or/and you can also poke them with a needle or awl)
- awl if desired
- cutting board (makes it easier to tear down paper into size)
For covers:
I am using plastic canvas (the kind you cross stitch into) - BUT any material will work. This is just what I originally used when many requested this video.
