Exercise is widely recommended to prevent osteoporosis and reduce the risk of falls and fractures, but not all forms are equally effective. This webinar for health professionals will provide an overview of the latest evidence with regard to the optimal type and dose of exercise that can enhance bone health and muscle function to simultaneously reduce the risk of osteoporosis, falls and fractures.
This will include information related to client screening and risk factor assessment, designing exercise programs for clients at varying levels of risk for falls and fracture, or with one or more chronic conditions, and how best to implement evidence-based exercise programs in the community to optimise musculoskeletal health and function.
Presented by Prof Daly, Chair in Exercise and Ageing within the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition at Deakin University, Melbourne
