(8 Feb 2020) People in Ireland started going to the pools on Saturday to started vote for a new parliament in teh country's general elections.
A restive electorate is rattling the two parties that have dominated the country's politics since it won independence from Britain a century ago, Fianna Fail party and Fine Gael party.
Polls suggest a surprise surge - maybe even a lead - for Sinn Fein, the party historically linked to the IRA and its violent struggle for a united Ireland.
Ireland's next Taoiseach, or prime minister, is highly likely to be either current Prime Minister Leo Varadkar who belongs to the Fine Gael party, or Micheal Martin, leader of the Fianna Fail party.
