We had planned to meet the 4WD crew in Levuka 4WD Park at lunch time so we knew we had to get a move along. The road out there seems to wind around in circles forever so we didn’t want to leave too late. We stopped in at the IGA to grab some last minute groceries for the trip and then headed out of Pottsville due West to Woodenbong and Levuka.
We continued on and finally reached the Summerland Way where the road straightens out and becomes smoother. We arrived at Levuka just in time to hear the 4WD crew on the UHF radio. They had finished checking in at the office and were about to head to the campsite. We radioed back and they waited there for us. It was a great reunion as we had not seen some of the regular crew for so long.
We are very grateful to have such good friends. We haven’t been able to join the weekend getaways for the last four years and yet it felt like just yesterday that we had seen everyone. We all picked back up where we left off. Everyone marvelled at how the children had grown and admired the new vehicles and camping set ups, but other than that everything was just as it always was.
