E.coli is a bacteria that can cause disease in humans. Verocytotoxin producing e.coli, or VTEC can cause bloody diarrhea and sometimes serious kidney disease in children. This video addressed the public health actions needed to control VTEC in a childcare setting. Public health professionals respond to outbreaks of VTEC in creches and schools in order to control the spread and prevent gastrointestinal disease cases by e.coli.
