Grand Duchess #OlgaAlexandrovna or Grand Duchess #OlgaRomanov (1862-1960) was one of the last #romanovs grand duchesses. Escaping to #Denmark in 1920, where she lived with her mother the #DowagerEmpress #MariaFeodorovna , Grand Duchess Olga found peace at the #Ballerup farm outside of #Copenhagen . Accompanied by #GrandDuchessAnastasia s nursemaid who sewed her jewels inside her petticoats, #GrandDuchessOlga wasn't a lover of clothes and jewels. But photographs show her with a love for hats she continued when meeting #QueenElizabeth II in a blue ensemble in 1959. According to her authorized biography, #TheLastGrandDuchess , she managed to escape #ImperialRussia with an #ostrichfeather hat. She was one of the few Romanovs permitted to live at #TsarskoyeSelo with her brother, Tsar #NicholasII ("Nicky") and his wife #EmpressAlix ("Alicky"). Her closeness to the Romanov children was reflected in her utter love for #Anastasia, whom she called the smartest of the set. This video also contains her recollections of Rasputin.
