Hippos are the Third Largest Land Living Mammal after the African Elephant and the White Rhino. The are also the World's Deadliest Large Land Living Mammal and are responsible for over 500 deaths per year in Africa! On average they can weigh up to 2 tonnes and attain a maximum speed of 30km per hour.
We came across these giants at the Keekorok Lodge Hippo pool in the Masai Mara.
