In this video, we will learn how to fix some of the errors that can occur during validation.
We will namely look at the possible errors that can occur when working with links.
Be sure to watch our introductory video on validation if you want any additional information on the process.
Load your PDF and run the validation.
First, let us look at the Description of the Annotation Contents, which is tied to the missing alternate description for our links. This error can be fixed in several ways.
Manually select the specific link you want to fix, which navigates you to the proper element in the Annotations panel.
Press the Properties button to view the current annotation content. Type in the desired alternate description, press Enter, and revalidate your PDF to make sure that the error was fixed.
If you want to fix multiple link errors at the same time, you can do so in two ways. You can either use the Fix Error Button located in the Validation Panel, or you can press the Set Contents button.
If you do not want to modify all of the links in the document but only a selection of them, we recommend using the Fix Error Button.
Select the link errors you want to fix and press the Fix Error button. This button can be used to automatically fix simple errors.
You can either type in a custom description that will be added to all links or press the Use associated text. This creates an alternative description based on the associated text specific to each link.
Revalidate your PDF to ensure that the selected link errors have been fixed.
The Set Contents button allows you to set the alternate description for all links present in your document that do not yet have an alternate description.
Press the Set Contents button and once again type in the desired description or press Use associated text.
You can also check the Overwrite existing option but be careful. This will change the alternate description of the links you have already modified.
Press OK to confirm the selection and revalidate your PDF to ensure that all of the Alternate Description errors have been fixed. Congratulations! You are now left with a valid PDF.
