Duncan Stewart speaks to the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship for Canada and touches upon the importance in rural communities. his work has led to new research and technology development worldwide in memristive materials and devices for computing memory and logic.
Dr. Duncan Stewart heads a longer-range, low technology-readiness-level research team that pushes the frontier of science and the frontier of technology simultaneously to create DARPA-like outcomes on relevant Canadian problems.
In 2008, he co-authored a series of papers reporting the discovery of the fourth fundamental ‘memristor’ circuit element. This work has led to a new field of research and technology development worldwide in memristive materials and devices for computing.
Dr. Stewart holds a BASc in Engineering Physics from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Applied Physics from Stanford University.
