Need insight or advice about choosing 2019 Mac Pro options - CPU, RAM, SSDs, and GPUs? You’re in the right place. I messed up my own config the first time I ordered (namely size of SSD), and in order to get it right - I had to send the Mac Pro back in order to change the config.
Hopefully, this does not happen to you, but quite honestly, it is quite easy to get carried away on the order page. We all know base config sucks, and is not worth $6,000 on its own, however, if you pick just what you have to from the list - you’ll get a much better machine for less than you thought you had to spend. At least - that is my experience :)

BTW - my new Mac Pro spec is as follows:
- 16 core 3.2GHz Xeon W
- 384GB RAM (upgraded myself)
- 1TB SSD (exchanged* the 8TB I originally specked out)
- Vega II Duo
- No Afterburner (I personally do not shoot in ProRes)
- Magic Trackpad only (exchanged* the Mouse and Trackpad for Trackpad only in the end)
** By exchanged I mean - I returned my Mac Pro back to Apple for a different config. As they cannot actually send you just the part you want, rather, a whole MacPro .... Jeez.
