The background music is from the New York level of Mini Metro on Endless mode. Disasterpeace shaped the excellent sound design of that game.

3:37 "Waverly" should say "Westerly."
3:40 I missed a *bunch* of express systems. I still think the core argument is sound, and I was always going to pick three examples for brevity, but I regret framing these examples the way I did. Check the comments for other examples; the most common ones I've read are in London, Seoul, and Philadelphia.

Regarding the station density chart: I used the stats from [ Ссылка ], which counts the system length and the number of stations in slightly unintuitive ways. The system length does *not* double-count multiple lanes of railroad track along the same line. So one mile of double-track subway is equal to one mile of quad-track local/express subway. The number of stations does *not* double-count transfer stations. My custom-built NYC subway map has four separate station dots in Times Square for the N/Q/R/W, the 1/2/3, the 7, and the 42nd Street Shuttle, but the chart counts all four of those as one station.
