This film raises awareness of the importance of compassion and kindness for people and those important to them at the end of their lives. You may find this upsetting, particularly if you have been recently bereaved or experienced a loss. Please take a moment to consider if today is the right moment for you to watch.
‘Caring with Compassion’ follows a man in the last days of his life, and the experiences of his family, as a powerful reminder of the importance of seeing the person, not the patient.
The palliative care team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust worked closely with Flix Films to develop the script, cast actors (including guest appearances from East Kent Hospitals staff) and sensitively shoot the film at William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, and other local locations.
We are very proud of this film and delighted to share it with our NHS and care partners. We really want to encourage every member of staff – it doesn’t matter who they are in the team – that they can actually make a big difference.
We hope that the film reminds us all why we do what we do – to help care for our patients and their families. Caring with compassion is a very simple message but so important to everyone.
'Caring with Compassion' was funded by the East Kent Hospitals Charity
