How do your operations compete?
One of the most important sets of strategic decisions is how to compete, and therefore what combination of external objectives to offer and at what level.
The external objectives are what the customer naturally wants from all business operations: high quality, great delivery, lots of flexibility, wonderful service, and low cost.
It's just not possible to prioritize all of them.

You must strategically choose where to focus your efforts and capabilities to attract and retain particular customers.
